Montessori

I bought a new book yesterday -- The Discovery of the Child, by Maria Montessori. The original translated copy since 1962.

I was encouraged by a few good friends that reading some child education and pregnancy books before my pregnancy. Raising a child needs a lot of mentally support, no doubt. Financially and physically preparation are important as well. Many parents want to have a genious kid by teaching the flash card and other methods. I personally think that teaching a kid with surviving skill is rather more important than other things. It includes a lot of EQ mindset and positive thinking. So that, the child can survive in a competitive world.

I'm not into childcare education but I would love to spend quality time with my future kids with full of sweet memory. I hope to be one of their guidances and gain their respect. I am waiting for the joy coming along. Wish me luck! :)

I totally agree! We don't need our kids to be genius but with high EQ! And I am a firm believer of letting kids to be kids instead of feeding them with so much information we want them to learn during their free time. Never under estimate the power of PLAY! That's the best way to learn in terms of stimulating a child imagination, rationalization and so on! Maria Montessori is indeed a great educator and her method of teaching children is just brilliant! Enjoy tour book! =)
