Earth Light

This is our Earth at night. This astronomy picture was taken by NASA in year 2000.

Marriage is a long winding road

I can't believe that I've married to King for 2 and a half years by now. It's an amazing feeling!
Marriage is a long winding road. Winding road with full of surprises, I should say. Many friends did ask me such question: How is your married life? Well, you will not know and feel the answer deeply if you are not into it.
I feel great to be a wife. And, it makes me feel so great that I'm a married woman whom someone is willing to spend life time with. Isn't it great? Someone you loved is willing to tag you along into his journey for decades and decades. I'm so proud of myself, you know!
Marriage can make someone see through one-self more and deeper. Marriage makes married persons know what they really want in their life. And they are willing to take more responsibilities and burden not only for one-self but for the whole family. The moment of saying "I do!" means so much in our life! It flips into another chapter of life.
Marriage is not a tomb; yet it is Heaven with full of dreams driven by 2 souls. Marriage is easy to be maintained well if love is all around. :)
There is a say: "There is no person with 100% in a marriage, but 2 persons with 50% each.". :)

Pillow Talk

It has been quite a while not having pillow talk with King lately. He is busy with work and his personal stuff day and night lately. And, I miss the time that having so many funny and interesting discussion with him. But well, we are heading to sunshine Phuket for a hideaway next week. Guess we shall catch things up by then and have a relax one!

I would say it is really fun to have pillow talk with King. We can talk about anything any topic. This is the most quality time that we spent with each other. We can even say the same sentence at times, which is funny! And, I got to learn reading his mind at times and be his soul mate along our journey.

We do talk about our dreams. Most of them have to be done by two of us together. The most fantastic one that we have done was tour around the States together by driving 4000 miles in 7 weeks back in year 2003. It was an unbelievable trip that we've made so far.

We do talk about our future kids and how they look like, how we want to give the little one a warmy and sweet home. We are happy that we have a sweet home that well-located in Malaysia now. It sure will be a sweet home not only to both of us but also our future kids.

I'm waiting for the starry nights next week. Looking up at the sky, we smile at each other with our dreams. :)

My birthday

Time ticks and flies. I'm 32 years old now, 26th of July. I can't believe that I'm approaching my 35 and 40 soon.

I'm blessed that I received many birthday greeting and gifts from my beloved family and all of my good friends.
King brought me to shop for birthday present before going for dinner. I think the most important part of celebrating my birthday every year is to have him by my side and family lives well. Nothing can beat King in my heart, hahaha!!!
I love this photo very much!! It was taken when we hiked to the Continental Divide in Glaciar National Park to overview the Logan Pass at elevation of 6680 feet together. It feels so great to see a great view together with someone you love and enjoyed the Summer breeze towards our face!
Thanks for everything, my dearest King! Mmmmuak! Happy Sweet 32 to ME! ^_^

My no. 32

Here it comes, my no. 32, on 26th of July, 2008. This is the year 32 that to remember the day of my birth delivered by my dearest mom.
Mom gave birth to little me when she was 24 years old. I was still staying in sunshine California when I was 24. Compare with mom, I'm a playful girl with full of dreams in a dream land United States. There was no video camera in birth delivering room, husband was not even allowed to be in the delivery room that time. So, I can only know a little bit of the process of how I came to this world from mom. Mom went through cesarean hardship while bringing 3 of us to her world. She is the greatest mom in our world!
I went to US west coast with mom last November, 2007. It was a great mother-and-daughter trip to us. We hold hand together in Grand Canyon, Disneyland, etc. Our hearts were tied together. Althought I've been staying in the States for so many years, it was one of the greatest trips that I ever have in my life!
Mom, you gave me so many numbers that I could reach my 60's or 70's. I hope you can make it to the top and see my kids in near future. And I will tell them how great you are to me and all of us! :) I love you, mom!

英文: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. -- 都是单音
eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen,..... -- 开始有双音
twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three,..... -- 开始有三音了
one hundred and one, one hundred and two.... -- 上百了,就多了这么多音呀?

马来西亚国语: satu, dua, tiga, empat, lima, enam,..... -- 才开始算,就两个音了
sebelas, dua belas, tiga belas, empat belas,..... -- 到19是五个音了
dua puluh satu, dua puluh dua, ..... -- 有七个音耶?
seratus dan satu, .....

http://news.epochtimes.com/gb/7/12/3/n1924171.htm

虽然英文是国际语言,但我还是以身为会中文的龙的传人而感到骄傲! 我也一定会让我以后的孩子学习方块字! 呵呵!

Buying time

Jane and Jeremy paid us a visit recently. Her son's preschool is just right in front of my house in the neighborhood, what a small world! Jane is a part time teacher in a tuition centre. And, we chatted about child education based on her experiences.

There are many parents choose to send kids and children to tuition centre nowadays, not only learning extra skills and hobbies, such as music class, sport class, ballet class, etc. Every world famous educationists emphasize that the Mothers are the best teachers in the world, or the Mothers should be the best teachers for their kids. Yet somehow, many women are career women in a successful way in terms of corporate seniority and wages. Women are able to be part of the family supporters financially. They choose to give their kids the best and the most quality part of international school and tuition centres. They spend quality time with the kids after work - less than 5 hours per day?....

I agree with Jane. Parents are buying time for their kids from tuition centre nowadays. They are willing to spend more money on extra work books, teachers, and most importantly TIME. I thought TIME is the most valuable thing that can't be evaluated and judged simply. Hmm... Ironic ironic ironic! We can't live without money, yet we can't live without time as well! I'm lucky and blessed that my dad hold my little hand while teaching little me Calligraphy; I'm thankful that my mom taught me maths when I was in a junction road with unsolving maths problem. These are one of the best memory during my childhood time that I will never forget in my whole life!

Black vs White

Black and White, which one you prefer? Or the Gray boundary is your choice? Oh well, I choose White. White color is pure and innocent to me.

I was doing direct sales business before in the past few years. But I decided not to focus on it anymore now for some reasons. Some of my friends do not like direct sales. And, I am so helpless that they don't like me much as well -- just because I was part of that business model that time. I wasn't pay much attention on how they look at me. Because I simply believe that true friends will encourage you to go for it instead of dragging you down with all negative words. Furthermore, I wanted to train my personality and enhance my EQ level to be optimistic when handling such situation. You know, it is hurtful when you heard someone comment on your work and your personality behind you and yet you have nothing to deal with him/her at all. Having say that, I did nothing wrong (not even approach or sell anything to that person at all).

I, recently, heard that this person made some negative comments behind me after hearing that I've quit the business. Well, I have mixture of feeling after that - happy and sad, ironic! And, it makes me recall how my father's friends comment on him when his business was failed years ago. True friends should encourage you to move on, instead of teaching you a lesson "I've told you before this and that..." in a sarcastic way. I thought so? Hmm... True friends are not for more. So, I shouldn't ask for that, haha! What's the point to put it into my heart? I see the truly face of this person NOW (not wait till am old) is the happy part; discourage points with sarcastic tone is the sad part. But, I move on.

I move on, that's why I choose White, not even a gray color! :)

My beautiful Roses

I always dream of having a rose garden. Because I love English cottage garden very much, with full of blooming roses and the roses smell! It smells romantic that my visitors of garden will rest on my greenish lawn happily. Well, too bad, big roses and climbing roses are not suitable for humid and toasted weather in Malaysia. Unless I own a house in New England in east coast USA.... That'll be fantastic! :)

Small Garden

I'm a plants lover. So, we don't wanna waste the small piece of land outside of our house.

My Garden

King and I planted the lawn and flowers by ourselves. We have a small garden in our car porch area. Some new plants and gardening wooden chair will be added in near future.

Live Simply, Laugh Often, Love Deeply

I like to put meaningful quote in my house. So, I can remind myself to live beautifully and amazingly everyday.

Clean House Never Last, Hugs & Kisses Do!

I incharge of most of the housework, although King will help out when he has extra free time. Housework is never-ending work with full of sweat all over your face and body. I like this quote. And so, I cross-stitch it and it is beautiful at the end. What do you think? :)

Joined In Love

This Joined-In-Love project is done within 4 to 5 days. I'm going to put it in our master bedroom. :)

Bless Our Family

This is my very first cross-stitching project after moving into new house. And, it is specially custom made for our family, ha!

Quality counts!

Mom laughs at me when she saw that I'm reading child education books recently. That's because I'm not a mother yet. :p

I only have less than 5 child education books sit in my bookshelf. All of them are one of the best! And, I can read it repeatedly, chapter by chapter, again and again. I know that I miss out something every time I read. To me, I don't care about the number of books that I have read, but what I have learnt and applied to my life. I'm sure many people will agree with me : Quality counts, not Quantity! ;)

V6 Engine

My dad was sick recently due to high blood pressure. He didn't want to inform us that he was hospitalized for a night in hometown because he loves us too much. My mom rang me up after a week since he was ill. My lovely sister and I went back to hometown last weekend for a stay. We monitor his blood pressure a few times a day and buzz him at least one time a day after coming back to KL. Thank god dad is recovering in a good pace and back to his good shape now. Of course, he can start laughing and talk loud now, too. He is proud to inform me that he can drive again, ha!

It is something that we've to accept and face the reality of oldies world and health problems now. When my dad was not feeling good and he hold my hands while walking unstably, I started to feel that this v6 engine is getting older and older now. The last time that he hold my hand was when I was still a little one at age of no more than 12, I guess. 20 years fly, now is when he falls sick that I hold his hand. I feel bad and guilty.

Dad, can I be cranky in front of you again? Please do take good care of yourself, so that, you can hold and hug my little one in the future! Gambadeh, oto-sang! :)

Simply amazing picture

What do you see in this picture? Look at their condition in this picture. No place to sleep, still they have made some space for the dog and animals. Water pour on them but still they have a peaceful smile in their dream. Simply amazing! The happiest people in the world are not those who have problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.

Living in the Technology-era century, the people nowadays, especially young adults, are not good at handling pressure. Financial pressure, family pressure, work pressure, everything that you can't imagine and all these are so powerful that can ruin someone's happiness easily. Thinking back to the era that belongs to my grandpa and grandma. What made them be tougher persons as businessman/housewife and parents of more than 10 children. And, the oldies still love each other until their age of 90's. I don't understand why word of divorce can sound easily in this era. I'm neither a perfect wife nor a perfect woman. But I seriously think that divorce is not the only way. And, I strongly emphasize that given a good family environment is much much far more important than any other problem-solving ideas. Home is the place that we can rest peacefully from work.

Big house and luxury car are not in my list. Life balancing, in terms of a loving husband, caring kids and good family bonding, is what I pursue. I believe that if all these happen in real life, health and money will come to you much easier. :)

Storybook time

Storytelling is good for babies and kids. Kids are good at imagination all the time. They will wonder around in their own little world. The bunny, the lion, the spaceship, the twinkle stars, the hunger crocodile, you name it. :)

A good friend shared her views and experiences with me recently. And, thinking back, I used to be one of the kids who love story books. The repeating same old stories are still good stories during my bath time (my mom told me thousands of stories when she bath me, but not bed time, haha!). Storytelling can help kids in concentration. They will understand that if they want to listen to a story, they will have to sit quietly and be concentrated while someone is speaking. It will help form a friendship and take turn in conversation if it's a get-together section. The big and catchy colorful pictures can help them to name the items. They will be able to name the animals, fruits, and stuff by pointing finger. Use the simple words and language during the story time. Kids can learn new vocabulary and sentences that used in the correct context. Funny expression and big sign of body language can create their imagination and enhance their body movement as well. I believe that, kids are the mirror of parents. Happy parents will have happy kids.

I notice that kids who love storytelling will be able to listen to parents compare with those don't. Parents can use the story role model to guide the kids about what to do and not. The kids will be educated in a much easier way in the future. For instance, parent may ask the kid, do you still remember the story of Pinocchio? So, what happened in the end when Pinocchio lie to his dad? and so forth. Storytelling can help kids to learn the sequencing and cause and effects. They will feel sad, helpless, fear from the storytelling and encourage them to help other friends.

Choosing a happy and healthy story content is very important to the kids. Avoid haunting story. Caring content is one of the best that help them to develop helping hand. Storytelling is good to help kids to gain an interest in reading books and encourage them want to read books by themselves.

Storytelling is a good way of communication between the parents and the kids. They can discuss the story and the roles together. It also can create good bonding in the family.

I'm sure all mothers are good observers. Happy storytelling, mothers! :)

A hug

King works very hard in his current job. He has to deal with his resellers most of the time, not only prospects. Dealing with people is not an easy job. I've been gone through this kind of job before. It is a bit emotional, sometimes, when you have to handle different kind of people in a day with a tiring soul and body. But, some people find that it is fun to deal with people, eh!

A hug from me to King is a day must. HUG means love, touching, caring and encouraging. I'm not stingy in giving my hug to my loved one, especially before we leave for job and come back home (I even hug my doggy everyday and night!). I believe that a hug can ease his tiring body and bad mood. A hug can even give him a full support and recharge his energy when he is miserable. A hug will comfort a stressful situation as well. Let's imagine, does a hugging picture romantic and sweet?

You know what, it's not easy to be financial independent nowadays. And, it's not easy to support a family and home. So, ladies, don't be stingy in giving a hug to our husbands. They deserve our hugs because they are our husbands whom we'll spend our life time with. They are going to miss our hugs one day when we are old enough to say good-bye.

Hug, is a love sign not to be missed in our family. :)

Role model of couple

A friend told me that King and I are a role model of couple in her heart, recently. I was surprised after hearing that. Of course, excitement counts but pressure as well.

It's known that maintaining a relationship for long life is not easy to be done. There are a lot of arts in nurturing love between two parties. And, it will take the whole life time to learn and practise. When I finish this life long course, I'll be an old lady. Well, life is full of stories and dramas. Agree?

King and I have been together since year 2000. We learnt a lot of things from each other along the road. From the day we agreed to tie-the-knot, we respect each other very much. I always believe that respecting pays a lot when it comes to different opinions and arguement. I don't like shouting or yelling. The way of communication for a couple should be in low tone with reasonable explanation. I dislike irrespectful tone and bad words very much. Some words are too harsh for someone your loved to take it. And, it'll be never erased easily if it's over limit. It's just too hurtful.

We are not a perfect couple. We do have fights, sometimes, to "brighten" our days. Oh well, ironic, huh?! Yet, I'm still thankful to that lovely friend that we are honored by her. Somehow, it'll remind me to be a good wife and a better one in this family, just for our family tree. :)

Appreciation Education

I came across Appreciation Education book in year 2006 and Boon Peng lent me the CD as well. The book is written and printed in Mandarin. And, this is one of the books that good for everyone who is at any ages. Well, everyone need to be appreciated, everyone need encouragement and stuff.

There are 2 choices for us to live in our life - positive way and negative way. Many people tend to focus on negative way with full of complaints. That's why these people are unhappy with their life. There are not many people focus on positive way with full of positive thinking when they face any difficulty. The author of this book, Zhou Hong, emphasize that the positive way of education remains a very strong effect while he educated his only child who is a blind and deft but beautiful daughter. His book and seminars have brought a lot of happy tears to many parents and also have brighten the future of many children. With full of encouragement and confidence from parents and teachers, the children can overcome any circumstances and obstacles by themselves.

I always think that children who are living in a positive environment are well-blessed! They have strong self-confidence, self-couraged, and are happy, healthy children in terms of physically and mentally. The Emotional Quotient of them is high and great that they are capable to control their emotion all the time, especially when they are upset and facing unsolved problems.

Zhou Hong's appreciation method is well-reknown in mainland China nowadays. It's a great method and mindset that play an important role in family and corporation. No matter what role you play in your family and organization, it's no harm to read this book and I can gaurantee you'll be well-benefit at the end. Trust me, it's a thumbs-up book!

Carl Weter's Education Law

I'm pleased that to be introduced this 200-year-old book of fame by Ijean some time in year 2006. It's hard to find an English copied nowadays, not even in Amazon. The only original English version is sitting in Harvard nowadays. I'm happy that I found a Chinese version in year 2007 and I've finished reading it in my first round.

I always believe that family education is more important than schooling. And, a stable relationship between the parents can ease any situation when it comes to a parenting difficulty. Carl's educational law gives me some ideas of patience and persistency in pre-child education. And, I can't wait to test it by myself when I'm pregnant, ha!

There's one thing puzzle me from Carl's education law is, how do we apply some of his rules into the 21st babies in this Technology-era? Hmm, I guess LOVE is the answer. Well, this is one of the books that I highly recommend to all my lovely friends - dad and mom!

Our very first cozy house

It is not easy to buy a house, you know. We spent more than a year to shop for a home. And, finally, King made his final count and decided to buy the house in PJ area. After a long waiting for the house keys, we finally could start to build our dream home, dream dream dream!! :)

Well, we didn't know how to start from a scratch at all. After collecting some information from friends, magazines and the Internet, I took the responsibilities of everything -- budget of RM60K and design. I would say, I was stressed out a bit but excited! The time management part is very important as we planned to move in before Chinese New Year which is 2 months away. Anyhow, I can make the call, heh!

First of all, I have a folder which is mainly for all the design papers that I've drawed. The folder is my organizer that I've all my drawings, figures, time management and many lists.

Here is the list based on the priority:
1. Have floor plan in hand wherever you go.
2. Pay neighbors a visit for renovation ideas. Neighbors remain an important role during your house renovation because they give many types of suggestions and advices. And, they can look after your property while during renovation and at night time.
3. Hunt for contractors nearby your new property. Get measurement and quotation from at least 3 contractors.
4. Have your own design in mind and on drawing paper will be the best. Show contractor your ideas. They will share their ideas and advices based on their experiences.
5. Wet work (wall or room extention) will be the first thing to kick off before electricity design.
6. Aware of how you want to design your electricity line -- light points, switches, TV point, home theatre system, kitchen appliance points, air-con, extra power plugs (you will no regret on the extra one, trust me!), alarm, auto-gate.
7. Water piping design (water filter, heater, toilet, kitchen basin, toilet) has to be ready and go by now.
8. Car porch design (piping, landscaping, floor tiles).
9. Kitchen wall tiles is the next after all the wet work is fully done.
10. We didn't change any internal floor tiles at all but you can do that at this time.
11. If you have beautiful cornice design, it can be installed by now.
12. Choose your wall color from color wheel and match nicely. Start the painting part.
13. Kitchen Cabinet will be installed after 3 weeks factory productions.
14. Wardrobe installment.
15. I've beautiful american style of chair rail installed at this time.
16. Roof extension or Awning installment.
17. Floor polishing.
18. Lights and fans installment.
19. Wallpaper installment.
20. Curtain rod and curtain installment.
21. Furnitures, including beds and sofa.
22. Alarm and auto-gate installment.
23. Water filter installment.
24. Pest Control.
25. Exterial wall painting.

These are the items that we did in our hot list based on our RM60K budget! It turns out a nice and cozy home! Beautiful and cozy home doesn't need a lot of money, actually. It is the color and design that paid off! Of course, and your enjoyment!

I find that it's very important to have a good relationship with your (kitchen and wardrobe) designers and contractor. They are willing to share many experiences and ideas with you. Hence, please don't hesitate to treat them nice and give them your beautiful smile when you visit. Smile doesn't cost a penny. And, smile makes someone's day. :)

Happy house-renovating!

The Bucket List ~~ a movie you must not miss!

There are NOT many good movies can be found in the theatres in M'sia. So, I, sometimes, will browse through Yahoo movie for some good tips. And this is how The Bucket List came across my mind.... Finally, we found the movie!!

After finishing the movie, there's no teary eyes but full of thoughts and questions.... Have you found joy in your life? Has your life brought joy to others? This really puzzle me a little while. I'm sure everyone found joy in life (of course, life is full of up and down). But, has your life brought joy to others? Are you sure?

I've a to-do list all this while. It is a forever long to-do list, ha! When you finish one item, you will have one or two more to be added in. Life is full of dreams that we would like to make it happen. Some are pretty realistic ideas -- no money, no talk; some need time to harvest it; some need patient and waiting. I'm living for myself, so far. I've a small family commitment because I have no kids yet. There are many people are living for others without any choices. I can't say this is sad or pathetic because every single decision and choice should be well-respected. But I shall say, we should live for how we want to live like. i think it's all worth it with no regret, especially when we know our death day is going to fall on our own calender one day.

The Bucket List is starred by no handsome men but 2 old men who are at their golden age -- Jake Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. The song writer John Mayer wrote the song titled "Say (what you need to say)" after reading the script with tears. It sits in my movie rack as my collection since then. So, why not you give it a try now, eh?

We only live once in a life. So, why not live in a style?

Long time no see since our age of 12!

After reading the forwarded email that I just posted here, I have a strong feeling to forward the email to all my primary school old time friends. Yet, I've lost in touch with most of them now.

Back in year 2004, Wan Yee, Kar Joo and I attent a Chinese New Year gathering. That was a fun with full of joy and memory gathering after our age of 12. We saw our primary schoolmates that day, 30+ of us!! It was full of surprise, happiness, excitement, doubt, curiosity, you name it, when we saw each other! Some of them were able to name us, some sort of not. Some look and face have changed a lot, some are still baby face. Some talk like the way they used to be. And, we were like pointing fingers to each other and tried to name each other with correct pronunciation! The room was full of joy and merry and, of course, memory! Everyone started to talk about old stories how each other teased each other and stuff. Gosh, that was one of the best gathering that I've ever attent in my life!

If you have a chance, go meet your primary school mates! You will never regret to do so, trust me! :)

Laugh until cry... :*)

A lovely girl friend forwarded me an interesting email today. I read it again and again with my tears and laughter. Time flies and am now 32 years old, no more little girl at age 10.... Here you go:--

if you are Msia's 70's~80s baby, read through this:-

we grew up watching Transformers,Thundercats, Woody Woodpecker, Chipmunks, Mickey Mouse, Mask, Ninja Turtles, Voltron, Ultraman n not forgettin POWER RANGERS n BUGS BUNNY!!! :)

had to brush our teeths during recess at primary school? had to hold plastic cups, line up with your classmates side by side and start brushing our teeths at some open area... or maybe near some drain??

do you still remember that we had 'dentist' rooms where we had to have our teeths check?

not to forget our 'program minum susu' in primary school.. everybody is suppose to buy like cartons of milk that costed 30 cents.. and you would see everyone drinking it everyday... its d UHT milk...

the teachers who would want to punish us must use yellow rulers to hit us on our palms?? 1 metre length..

that a bowl of mihun soup or some souponly costed 50 cents at the school canteen...went to some sundry shop near the school or to the 'roti' man waiting outside our schools so that we can buy junk food like chickedees, mamee, ding dang with some toys in it, 'Ti Kam', ice-cream and we would play games like monopoly, uno, old maid, and all other card games like that...

another fun time would be during Pendidikan Jasmani. the boys wouldplay football while the girls would play netball... and it would be like we were playing in the world cup... but of course. the best would be main guli, batu seremban, bottle caps, ice-cream sticks, 'Pepsi Cola one-two-three', Cops and Robbers, main kejar-kejar duduk,getah... and for the not so active, those kind of 'book games' where we would use buku latihan to draw and ask our friends to play...

do you remember the ice-cream tubes which are actually ice and colouring that are sold for 10 to 20 cents.. the colourful ones.. where you usually bite off the top to glup it down.orange tastes b best..(pop-ice)

what about days when we felt like doing naughty things such as folding papers so small to make 'lastik' amd shoot each other... how about throwing chalks??

back then, micheal jackson was just turning white.. and still had albums coming out.. compared to CD's, we were listening to tapes that sold for RM9.90...

in computer class, we were still using black and white computer moniters..played 'Atari'... maybe SEGA orNINTENDO..

well, are we all getting older or what?

This is my life.

I've been figuring out how to blog and add some extra features and list into my blog these 2 days. Finally, I've something new to be added and shared. I actually have a list of topics to write in my blog and there are really many of them. Yet, I need to organize it well before writing every single words down. Some friends did give me some suggestions that what they wanna know about me and my life, even my thinking. It's good to know that there is someone else who is caring about you even though we are not seeing each other everyday. :0) Well, life is full of sweets and chocolates!

Seize the day!
